Export

What can you export?

An Eraser file has two parts – the canvas (diagrams) and the document (notes) – and you can export either or both. Diagrams export to PNG, SVG, PDF, presentation formats (PowerPoint, Google Slides), and diagram formats (BPMN, Visio, draw.io); documents export to Markdown or PDF.

How to export

  1. Open the … menu in the top-right and choose Export, or press ⌘/Ctrl + E.
  2. Pick an Export area, a File type, and any options.
  3. Click Export.

To export part of a diagram, select elements first, then use Export selection from the diagram toolbar’s … menu – this is also how you reach the BPMN, Visio, draw.io, PowerPoint, and Google Slides formats.

Image options (PNG/SVG)

  • Quality: 1x/2x/3x
  • Background: solid/transparent
  • Color mode: light/dark.

Presentation formats

Select a single diagram, then pick PowerPoint (.pptx) or Google Slides. Either produces one slide sized to the diagram – shapes, text, and connectors stay editable; icons and artwork come across as images.

Google Slides adds a Google authorization step, then creates the deck in your Drive and opens it in a new tab.

Neither builds a multi-slide deck from a document or several diagrams.

Copy & embed

Instead of downloading, select a diagram and use the toolbar … menu:

  • Copy as PNG (Shift + Alt + C) or Copy as SVG – paste into another app.
  • Copy Markdown embed / Copy HTML embed – snippets for external docs.
  • Copy link to elements – a deep link back into Eraser.
  • Copy as XML / JSON – freeform diagrams only.

To show an up-to-date, read-only file or diagram inside your own app or site – including to viewers without an Eraser account – use the embed API.

Document formats

  • Markdown – a .md file.
  • PDF – a formatted PDF. Exporting All delivers document and canvas as two PDFs in a ZIP.

Plans

PDF, Visio, draw.io, PowerPoint, and Google Slides export, 2x/3x image quality, and removing the Eraser watermark require a paid plan.
