Usage-based pricing
Overview
Usage-based pricing allows users to extend their usage of AI credits beyond plan limits. Usage-based pricing is only available on paid plans. API calls require usage-based pricing to be enabled. Users can set a monthly spending limit to control additional charges.
Enabling usage-based pricing
- Navigate to Settings > Plans and Billing
- Locate the Usage-Based Pricing section.
- Toggle on Enable usage-based pricing.
Managing spend limits
Users can set and adjust their monthly spending limits to ensure they do not exceed their intended budget.
- When 80% of the spend limit is reached, team admins will receive a alert notification email.
- When 100% of the spend limit is reached, team admins will receive another notification email and users on the team will not be able to use AI credits beyond plan limits or make API calls.
Viewing current spend
The Usage page provides a detailed view of usage-based charges, including the total amount spent and a breakdown of costs for the current month.

Example usage
A Professional Plan user receives 20 Standard AI credits and 5 Premium AI credits per month. If they consume 40 Standard AI credits, 8 Premium AI credits, and 5 Standard API calls, their usage-based charges are calculated as follows:
- Standard AI Credits: 20 extra credits billed at $20 per 100 credits → $4.00
- Premium AI Credits: 3 extra credits billed at $60 per 100 credits → $1.80
- Standard API Calls: 5 calls billed at $40 per 100 credits → $2.00
- Total usage-based charges: $7.80
Billing information
Usage-based charges are billed on a calendar-month basis. At the end of each month, your usage from that month is added to your next invoice. For example, if your billing cycle starts on the 14th of each month, any usage from February 1 to February 28 will appear on your March 14 bill.
FAQs
What happens if I reach my spending limit?
Once the limit is reached, additional API calls and AI credit usage beyond the plan limits will be blocked until the next calendar month.
Can I increase my limit mid-month?
Yes, users can adjust their monthly spend limit at any time to accommodate additional usage.
Who can manage usage-based pricing and spend limits?
Team admins can toggle usage-based pricing on or off and adjust spend limits.
